Aussie Curves: Green

This week's Aussie Curves theme is pea GREEN with envy! Once again I'm wearing one of my Oh Honey Hush headscarves, which I just adore. My students call this one my "Air Hostess Dress". Le boyf calls it the "Army Nurse Dress". It's actually called the Diner Dress. Either way, it's very 50s and one of my favourites. I bought it from a vintage shop called Grease Vixen in Adelaide, Australia. Hope you like it x

Aussie Curves: Sequin

top: ASOS, size 18 (here)
skirt: ASOS CURVE, size 22
shoes: BETTS

I don't think I've ever been quite so excited to wear a top as I was this time 'round. I've been sitting on these photos for a while, patiently waiting for the Aussie Curves sequin theme, feeling so pleased about the outfit and just, well, happy! As a blogger, there are some posts that you feel better about! This was one of them.

I'll admit, sequin was a theme that had me stumped. I never wear sequins, so I couldn't "shop my closet" this time around. Sure, I could have chosen not to participate this week, but I thought I'd have a look on ASOS first.

I found this cowl neck sequin top. I love it. It comes in blue too, but I liked the "mermaidy" feel of the green. It's also my first ever cowl neck top, eek! I had to dig out the ol' chicken fillets for this one! The arms are a little scratchy, but I didn't find it unbearable.

Hope you like it x

Aussie Curves: Leather

My favourite thing about leather? THE SMELL. Before I change over to a leather handbag or put on a leather jacket or skirt, I shove my face in it, breathe in deep as a can and give it the biggest whiffin' ever! I think sometimes my eyes roll back into my head a little bit, haha! Having said that, prior to meeting my boyfriend, I didn't own any genuine leather. But what can I say - he's a leather guy (even has a pair of leather pants) and after he's worn his leather jacket I want to sniff his neck for like, ever. Whenever I want some extra affection, all I have to do is wear leather. He finds it irresistible! So how could I pass up the opportunity for extra cuddles? I now have quite a few genuine leather pieces, mainly from ASOS. Two skirts (one skater, one pencil), and a tan suede jacket (I'm saving that for Boho week).

All that said and done, I don't mind a bit of pleather too. When I tried on this Fur Trim Jacket at City Chic, I just thought, "I love this more than life itself."

Aussie Curves: Timesaver

My ultimate timesaver item is the humble t-shirt!

My favourite thing is to tuck a t-shirt into my ASOS Curve leather skater skirt.

t-shirt & suspenders: DANGERFIELD
skirt: ASOS CURVE, size 22
headscarfe: OH HONEY HUSH (here)
shoes: BETTS

Nothing like a little Bruce Lee nipple action on a t-shirt! Rowr!

Aussie Curves: Heels

If you were wondering what the Doc Martins girl was going to wear for the Aussie Curves "heels" challenge, well the answer is...Doc Martins! My Mary Jane Docs, that is.

shirt: ASOS, size 18 (here)
blazer & skirt: CITY CHIC (XS & M)
shoes: DR. MARTINS
silver heart locket:THRIFTED

I'm starting to realize what a pear shape I am. On my top, I'm size 16-18. From the waist down, 22-24. That's a BIG difference (and a lot of booty!). The great part about that is being able to buy my tops from the ASOS standard sizes section, so long as they go up to sizes 16 - 18. This purple blouse is an example of that. Purple is my favourite colour.

I've really felt frustrated in my blogging lately because we no longer have daylight savings. This means that my usual photographer (the faithful bf) wasn't getting home 'til after dark. It has really made me realize why a lot of my favourite bloggers always pose OUTSIDE - the lighting is soooo much better and even photos taken on the humble phone can turn out alright for those of us who are more camera challenged.

My boyfriend took a few inside photos out of desperation earlier this week, and I might salvage some of those for a blog post soon, but I was so disappointed with how they turned out.

However, the bf's work hours have changed for the next month, so he's getting home earlier which means...more OOTD posts, yay!

This shoot was one of those after-school quickie photo shoots outside of a supermarket! A girls gotta do what she's gotta do! The downside is that I'm not as "fresh" - blog photos are usually taken at the beginning of the event for me. But nevermind. I've so missed having more regular posts. I've only really been taking photos for Aussie Curves, but I wear so many other interesting outfits during the week that seem to go to waste a bit! Well at least my students appreciate it - "Your clothes make me happy, Miss!" - bless!

These Mary Jane heels are just beautiful to wear. Comfortable, sturdy and classic. I've never seen them in stores, but I got these off eBay from a seller in NSW, I think. I really don't wear heels, even though I love how they look on me, but these I can manage without too much discomfort.

I'm in love with the Houndstooth trend at the moment, so this skirt is a bit of favourite with me right now. I also adore this City Chic blazer, which I purchased last year. BUT my favourite thing right now is this vintage silver heart locket which I found at a CAR BOOT SALE! I've been looking for a locket just like this for AGES. I'm so thrilled.
